Extension Workshop on Self-Care Through the Healing Power of Gratitude

A free family caregiver workshop onSelf-Care Through the Healing Power of Gratitude’ is slated for Tuesday, January 14, 2014 from 2:00 to 3:00 pm through Cornell Cooperative Extension in Sullivan County.  The workshop will be held at the Gerald J. Skoda Extension Education Center on 64 Ferndale-Loomis Road in Liberty.  An alternate date of Thursday, January 16 is in place in case of inclement weather.

Presenter Michelle Lorenzo, MA, LMT, will explain the many forms of gratitude and how it can provide therapeutic effects on caregivers in distress.  A guided exercise will follow to help caregivers start the journey and begin to heal.  Through the shared support of the caregiver community and the power of laughter, caregivers will be enabled to experience the healing power of gratitude with the goal of inner strength and serenity.

Pre-registration is requested by January 9 by calling CCE at 845-292-6180. Coffee and snacks will be offered. This program is sponsored by the NYS Office for the Aging Caregiver Resource Center Program
