LIBERTY, NY— The public is invited to attend the 99th Annual Meeting of Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) Sullivan County on Thursday, December 12, 2013. The free event will be held at 7 pm in the Gerald J. Skoda Extension Education Center on 64 Ferndale-Loomis Road in Liberty. Coffee, tea, hot cocoa, and homemade desserts will be available.
Stanley “Lee” Telega, New York State Director at the USDA Rural Development Office will be the keynote speaker. He will speak about the resources administered by the USDA Rural Development that connect communities, businesses, and individuals to improve the economic conditions and the quality of life in rural communities. Telega was appointed by President Obama to the director’s position in June of 2013. No stranger to Extension or Sullivan County, Telega is a former Senior Extension specialist who worked with many of the dairy farmers in the region and served as a technical advisor to the New York City Watershed.
At the Annual Meeting, a select few CCE volunteers and youth will be honored for their accomplishments and dedication to CCE Sullivan County and to its Centennial Campaign over the past year.
Voting for CCE Board of Director and Program Committee vacancies and expired terms will also be on the meeting agenda. A list of the candidates with their brief bios can be found on the CCE Sullivan County website at http://www.sullivancce.org
