NYS 4-H Receives $300,000 National 4-H Council grant

I am pleased to share with you New York State has been awarded a National Council grant of $300,965.00 to fund six sites as part of the National 4-H Council National Mentoring Project (NMP). The combined efforts of the county educators and support staff who worked on this proposal has resulted in NYS doubling our program sites and our budget. Our sites are:

  1. Broome County
  2. Franklin County
  3. New York City and Fort Hamilton
  4. Suffolk County
  5. Tompkins County
  6. Ulster County

This is an outstanding achievement for New York State and presents us an opportunity to continue strengthening our work with diverse (military, at risk, native american, high risk, underserved) children, youth and families in our communities and developing newer relationships in others. Our sites will implement either the Youth and Families of Promise or Tech Wizards programming models during the 2014 calendar year. Please join me in congratulating our veteran sites, Broome, Franklin and New York City as well as our new sites Suffolk, Tompkins and Ulster Counties.

Have a great afternoon!

Best,

Valerie
