Choose Health: Food, Fun, and Fitness Training June 28-29 at Seneca CCE

A pilot training for educators and adult volunteers who want to teach the new Cornell youth curriculum Choose Health: Food, Fun, and Fitness (CHFFF) is being offered at Seneca CCE on June 27-28, and there is space for additional participants. The training will be conducted jointly by 4-H youth development educator Rachel Williams and nutrition program manager Moira Tidball. Please let both me and Rachel know if you are interested. Details below.

CHFFF is a fun, interactive 6-lesson curriculum on healthy eating and activity for 8-12 year olds recently developed by Wendy Wolfe in the Division of Nutritional Sciences, Sally Crosiar, a youth development consultant, and the 4-H Youth Healthy Eating and Active Living (HEAL) PWT. It is available for use with youth in a variety of settings such as after-school programs, 4-H clubs, and summer camps, and is approved for use in EFNEP (and hopefully will be approved for ESNY shortly).

There are 2 components to the training: A one hour webinar and a 2-day face to face training at CCE-Seneca. The training dates are as follows:

Monday, June 18, 10-11am: Webinar introduction to CHFFF

Thursday and Friday, June 28-29, 10:00 am – 4:30 pm: Interactive in-person training at CCE-Seneca.

Each participating county will receive one copy of the CHFFF curriculum and a CHFFF activity bin, and will come away ready to teach CHFFF.

Again, let us know if you are interested – space is limited, so it will be first come, first served.

Thanks, Wendy and Rachel
