Subject: 4-H Questions can you help

Hello Friends & Colleagues,

1. Does anyone know of any specific guidelines and/or policies relating to a Junior Leader? How is a Jr. Leader defined?

2. Does anyone know what the policies are regarding clubs owning and/or purchasing their own animals?

From PW Wood:

Clubs cannot own any animals because of liability exposure to the Association. Only members own the animals and take them to auction.

3. Does anyone know what the policies are for clubs that purchase equipment (ie; sewing machines, shooting sports equipment, etc) and then DISBAND? Who owns the equipment if the club bought it with money they raised? What happens to the equipment if the club disbands?

FORM Code 1601:

XII. Dissolutions of 4-H Club or Affiliated Organization

When 4-H clubs disband, any remaining assets, such as equipment, property and bank accounts, must be relinquished to the extension association.

Any guidance you can offer would be extremely helpful.

Thanks, Dena
